Vinarija Barbazza· Smokvica · Otok Korčula· Legal Notice
Everything else on this site is lifted from a document you can still touch — a deed of 1530, a Venetian decree of 1723, a signature of 1759. This page is the paper that covers the rest: the name the holding carries in the register, the person answerable for it, and where to find us.
The holding
The name on the label is a byname. The name in the register is the family's own.
The winery is run as an obiteljsko poljoprivredno gospodarstvo — a family agricultural holding, registered in Croatia. Barbazza is the byname first written down at Smokvica on 22 May 1699, in a witness line. It went back on the label three hundred years later. The register knows us by the other name.
The register
The holding is entered in the Upisnik obiteljskih poljoprivrednih gospodarstava, the Croatian register of family agricultural holdings, kept by the Paying Agency for Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development (APPRRR). This is the number by which the Croatian state identifies it.
Contact
Letters, bookings, corrections to five hundred years of paperwork — all of it reaches the family at one address.
